Anastasia Koorn – 2023-2025 Bocelli-Jameel scholar – performs in the chorus of Wagner’s ‘Parsifal’ this summer for her Glyndebourne festival debut, running from 17 May to 24 June.
Wagner’s final opera ties together the philosophies of Schopenhauer and Buddhism with the medieval chivalric poem ‘Parzival’, which follows the eponymous knight on his quest for the holy grail.
Launched in 2019, the Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel scholarship supports full-time students at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, the world’s top conservatoire for performing arts.
The RCM awards the scholarship to students on the basis of merit, assessed at audition, and on their need for financial support.
