Co-hosted by the White House Domestic Policy Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, 'Healing, bridging, thriving: A summit on arts and culture in our communities' explores how the arts can contribute to health and well-being, animate and strengthen physical spaces and drive equitable outcomes for communities across the United States. Featuring panels, performances and more, the in-person and virtual convening aims to generate support to help ensure that the arts and their benefits are accessible to all.
Christopher Bailey, co-director of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, provides a reflection on how the healing power of arts can help address the most pressing community challenges, as part of a session called: 'Healing: Arts and health', which features US policymakers, US public health service commissioned corps leaders, NGO and artistic directors as well as art practitioners. The session includes announcements by the National Endowment for the Arts and US Department of Health and Human Services.
The in-person held event in Washington DC is live-streamed.
