The Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and MIT Open Learning are hosting a daylong series of conversations with global thought leaders on how structures of cognition, space and curriculum design shape learning.
Taking place at MIT’s Samberg Conference Centre, the series of conversations explores how learning may be shaped by structures underpinning cognition and emotion, the experience of space and the scaffolding provided by curriculum design. MIT experts sharing their unique take on how to design for better learning include Dr Anjali Sastry, faculty director of J-WEL and dean for MIT Open Learning, Dr Claudia Urrea, senior associate director of J-WEL pK-12, Professor Cynthia Breazeal, dean for digital learning at MIT and head of MIT Open Learning corporate education and Dr Vijay Kumar, senior adviser to the vice president of MIT Open Learning and former executive director of J-WEL, among others. The event also gathers MIT’s global collaborators to share ideas from J-WEL innovators from across the world.
