CLIMAVORE x Jameel at the Royal College of Art (RCA) hosts a symposium addressing the emerging challenges posed to seed health by digital sequencing technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).
The event will also feature the announcement of the recipients of the 2025 CLIMAVORE x Jameel Food Action Awards.
Following introductory remarks by Cooking Sections, principal investigators of CLIMAVORE x Jameel at RCA, Karine Peschard, associate research fellow of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, will deliver a lecture exploring how seed activists have reshaped our relationship to seeds through open-source models, human rights frameworks and the rights of nature.
The lecture concludes by addressing emerging challenges posed by digital sequencing technologies and the use of AI in plant genetic engineering.
Established in 2023, CLIMAVORE x Jameel at RCA is a research initiative that reimagines foodways for drylands and wetlands.
A partnership between CLIMAVORE and Community Jameel at the RCA, it advances ecological networks to produce new knowledge and action towards spatial justice.
