Supported by Community Jameel and using BRUVS technology, a study reveals the dynamic, biodiverse ecosystem within Monaco’s Larvotto marine protected area, reports Monaco Voice.
Conducted alongside the Association monégasque pour la protection de la nature (AMPN), THALASSA Marine Research and Environmental Awareness, Blue Abacus and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the study collected 48 video samples and evidenced significant seasonal shifts in the presence of different species, their size and biomass.
Jacqueline Gautier-Debernardi, director of AMPN, added: “These seasonal differences reveal complex ecological dynamics, underscoring the need for continuous monitoring.”
