Learner in Afghanistan reaches beyond barriers to pursue career in data science

Tahmina was a junior studying computer engineering at a top university in Afghanistan when a new government policy banned women from pursuing education. Determined to continue her studies and pursue her ambitions, Tahmina found the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Refugee Action Hub (MIT ReACT) and was accepted onto its certificate in computer science and data science programme in 2022. MIT ReACT provides education and professional opportunities to learners from refugee and forcibly displaced communities worldwide.
