L’économiste Esther Duflo dézingue la réforme des retraites
Despite long weeks of protest in response to pension reforms in France, the head of state has promulgated the proposed retirement plans during the same week as the announcement of the Nobel Prize in Economics. The 2019 Nobel Prize winner, Esther Duflo, and co-founder and co-director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), has stated that she sees nothing 'rational' in the pension plan in an article in La Tribune, asserting that 'this reform will make it possible to save money, but at the expense of the poorest'.
