Dan Huttenlocher

Dan Huttenlocher is chair of the MIT Jameel Clinic along with Phillip Sharp. He is also the inaugural dean of the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing and the Henry Ellis Warren (1894) Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Dan's research focus is computer vision and the analysis of social media. His book, 'The age of AI: And our human future,' co-authored with Henry Kissinger and Eric Schmidt, was published by Little, Brown in November 2021. His research and teaching have been recognised by a number of awards including ACM Fellow and CASE Professor of the Year.

He has a mix of academic and industry backgrounds: He helped to found Cornell Tech, the digital technology-oriented graduate school created by Cornell University in New York City, where he served as its first dean and vice provost. He was a researcher and manager at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) and CTO of a fintech startup. He currently serves as a member of the boards of Corning Inc. and Amazon.com.

Dan holds a bachelor's degree from University of Michigan and a master's and doctorate from MIT.
