Henna Mun

Henna Mun is a South Korean soprano and a 2023 recipient of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel Scholarship at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, where she studies at the International Opera Studio, under the tutelage of Sarah Tynan.

Described as having a voice that is "richly expressive and gleaming at the top" (Opera Magazine) and "show stopping" (The Observer), Henna's operatic roles include Eurydice ('Orpheus in the underworld'), Ilia ('Idomeneo'), La Principessa ('La bella dormenta nel bosco'), Jenny Lind ('Barnum’s bird') and Maturina in the RCM's production of Gazzaniga's 'Don Giovanni Tenorio' in November 2023. She has also covered the roles of Papagena ('The magic flute') and the Dew Fairy ('Hänsel and Gretel'). In 2023, she was part of the Atelier Lyrique programme at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. In 2024, she performed in the role of Hanna Glawari in 'The merry widow' at the RCM and looks forward to participating in Glyndebourne Festival as a Jerwood Young Artists performer.

Henna graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music in 2023 with a master of performance and was awarded the Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel Scholarship, along with mezzo-soprano Anastasia Koorn, which fully supports her studies at RCM's renowned Opera Studio. Henna is supported by the Midori Nishiura Scholarship and the Basil Coleman Opera Award as well as the Josephine Baker Trust and the Drake Calleja Trust.
