Noha Ali is an Egyptian-Swiss architect and designer, and a graduate of the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo (2020). She is the founder of Naïa Design House.
In 2018, Noha joined the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo diploma course, where she majored in woodwork. After her graduation, Noha launched her own brand for home accessories and furniture, Naïa Design House, a design studio creating high-end handmade products inspired by Egyptian and Middle-Eastern heritage. She creates unique pieces that revive traditional arts and crafts by incorporating a modern perspective. Her products integrate different techniques, such as inlay and woodcarving, on natural wood and brass.
An architect by training, Noha previously worked as a designer at Silhouette Design Company, as a principal architect at the Engineering Consultant Group (ECG) and as a professor of architecture at the French University in Egypt (UFE).
Noha is also a member of the design hub at the Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation and delivers woodwork workshops teaching young designers and women in particular wood-inlay techniques, and offering them work opportunities as part of Naïa’s team. Her designs have been showcased at various design and craft events and exhibitions both in Egypt and the UK.
Noha received her bachelor's degree in architecture, majoring in architectural engineering, from Ain Shams University.
