J-PAL
Vincent Pons is an affiliated with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), in addition to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR). He is an associate professor at Harvard Business School.
His research examines the foundations of democracy: how democratic systems function, and how they can be improved to make rights and services more accessible to everyone, including disadvantaged groups.
Vincent has carried out research in Africa and Europe on voter participation, including get-out-the-vote campaigns in France and a text message campaign leading up to the national elections in Kenya. Outside politics, he has conducted research in the health sector, including examining the role of incentives and monitoring in treating tuberculosis (TB) in India, which has the world’s highest incidence of TB.
Vincent holds a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and master's degrees in economics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and in political philosophy from Université Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne.
