تتيح تقنية AgZen المختبرة ميدانيًا والحاصلة على براءة اختراع للرش والتركيبات التي تستخدمها AgZen إمكانية التصاق قطرات الكيماويات الزراعية بالنباتات بشكل أفضل، مما يساعد المزارعين على الحد من التلوث بالمبيدات وتوفير التكاليف التشغيلية دون المساس بإنتاجية المحاصيل.
Invented by MIT mechanical engineering graduate Vishnu Jayaprakash, winner of the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame Collegiate Inventor Competition 2022, and co-founded with Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, Kripa Varanasi, AgZen is a spinout company from the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS), having received funding from J-WAFS Solutions Grant to enable global field tests of the technology and its commercialisation. J-WAFS Solutions Programme awards one-year grants of up to $150,000 to up to three MIT research projects per year which seek solutions to pressing water and food challenges. In 2022, AgZen was also announced the first-place winner of the 2022 J-WAFS World Food Day Video Competition.
AgZen’s technology has won multiple awards, including USD 50,000 at the MIT 100K Competition 2020 and over USD 500,000 in investment and prizes at the Rice Business Plan Competition 2021.
