Community Jameel

Alumni of the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo collaborated with Bayt Yakan, an arts organisation dedicated to preserving historical heritage of Old Cairo, to provide a two-week winter workshop for the women and children of Cairo’s Darb al-Ahmar neighbourhood. Delivered by five alumni over 12 days to 45 attendees, the course consisted of training in traditional Islamic crafts such as geometry, woodwork, Kufic calligraphy and ceramics.
