The MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing has awarded seed grants to seven projects that explore pathways to higher productivity and better management through AI and human-computer interaction.
Cynthia Breazeal, the dean for digital learning at MIT, director of personal robotics at the Media Lab and Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL) affiliate, is among the grant recipients. Cynthia will work with Harold Abelson, professor of computer science and engineering in EECS and CSAIL at MIT and Eric Klopfer, professor and director of the Scheller Teacher Education Program and the education arcade at MIT, on a project titled, 'Augmented software tools to democratize programming.'
The project aims to stimulate a transformation in computing education through the development of a software tool that reduces a learners' need to confront code when creating applications.
