Reuters features the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo in a report on the school’s revival of Egyptian heritage crafts.
Highlighting how the programme is reinvigorating traditional arts for a new generation, Reuters interviewed Mamdouh Sakr, programme director of the Jameel House in Cairo, who explained:
“There are over 200 graduates from the Jameel House, and our goal from the beginning, we had several goals: to preserve the heritage and traditional crafts, to train people on them and teach them, and at the same time to be able to tackle traditional and heritage crafts in a somewhat contemporary way.”
