When deployed effectively, artificial intelligence (AI) can help solve human challenges and discover new health treatments, such as the powerful antibiotic Halicin, which discovered by researchers at Jameel Clinic at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and can fend off drug-resistant strains of bacteria. Yet, as AI takes on an increasingly wide scope and executes more functions, serious conversations are required about how AI will be deployed and affect social interactions, human life and even security.
