Esther Duflo, co-founder and co-director of the Abdul Latif Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and 2019 winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, has published five new volumes in her ten-part series explaining poverty to children. Illustrated by Cheyenne Olivier, the series explores the themes of school, health, work, environment and entrepreneurship as they relate to poverty in a manner engaging for young readers and aims to address topics covered in her previous book, 'Poor economics: A radical rethinking of the way to fight poverty'.
