The national programme for early childhood development developed by the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity implemented advanced training courses to build the capacities of teachers in nursery schools in Beni Suef Governorate. Mona El-Shabrawy, head of the Central Administration for Family and Women's Affairs, explained that these trainings are one element of a wider-scale, comprehensive initiative to improve children's services in Egypt, including education and learning outcomes for children, by developing nurseries, the quality of childcare services and the capabilities educators. The initiative is implemented in cooperation with a number of partner agencies in the governorates of Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, Luxor and Gharbia in cooperation with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab Middle East and North Africa (J-PAL MENA) and the Egyptian Food Bank.
