Michael Kremer, professor of economics and public policy at the University of Chicago, met with officials of the School Education Department to discuss schools in Andhra Pradesh, India. The Nobel laureate, who received the honour alongside Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) co-founders, Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee, for their experimental approach to global poverty alleviation, praised the Indian state's use of technology in the classroom as an effective tool in building students' comprehension levels as part of the Personalised and Adaptive Learning (PAL) project.
