Researchers, policymakers and international experts gathered at a conference at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Rabat, Morocco, to explore how scientific research can be better used to create public policies in Morocco.
Organised by the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), the event highlighted the work of its Morocco Innovation and Evaluation Lab (MEL) and focused on the themes of climate change, education and employment.
Esther Duflo, J-PAL co-founder and Nobel laureate in economics, said: “Unfortunately, there is very little climate finance targeted towards poor countries.
“And of this climate finance, almost none of it is targeted towards adaptation and compensation.”
